Monkey style. For the last several classes we were training monkey style. This very demanding training is very hard on your leg muscles and once you go through it, your level changing ability is becoming very fast and easy. Chan Shaolin Si and Dju Su Kung Fu has many training forms - this being one of them.

New techniques every class. Today we focused on hand releases from grabbing the uniform. Students had a lot of fun with new powerful useful on the streets techniques. Join us to learn more. Today we trained stretching exercises against the wall as well as close combat fighting. Students are learning the art of close contact without getting hurt. We all would like to wish everybody a happy and the save long weekend. We will still have a class on monday for those who show up. See you next week.

Training. Welcome back after some time of inactivity. It's 5:00 p.m., we are waiting for a younger group to show up. Younger group trains from 5:15 to 6:25. Philip Reid is already here helping bring targets into our gym. It is going to be another great session. We may also take and post a picture depending on the time.

Do you recognize this clock. Yes it is our gym clock telling you it is time to get in shape for the summer and get serious about your training. Louis, Anya and Philip are warming up ... ooops , gotto go, training is about to start.

Healthy, muscular body. The idea is simple. Your body is made out of the ingredience you put in it. It is simple as that. You avoid putting fat and sugar in your body and you are all set. Just as an example I started this morning with a salad made out of two white eggs, soy beans, tuna, glass of water and a sandwich that goes with it.Yogurt for desert. How is everyone else doing on their new years resolutions of getting a healthy body?

Disarming an opponent pointing a gun. Yesterday we trained techniques of disarming an opponent attacking us with a gun. Major point in such situation is focusing on securing a weapon. During class we have presented couple of them and students had a chance to train them. Times are getting a bit harder because of declining economy. Some people may take drastic measures to gain money and we need to be able to defend ourselves as well as our families. Knowing such techniques will help you do that.

Applying the teachings. "Listening to the teachings is one thing. Applying the knowledge into one's life is another. We are in the class to have results and this is why all the students need to ask themselves what kind of results are they looking for and whether or not they are willing to put Instructor's words into action.

Mr. Zbigniew Jez's reply. "Thank you very much for remembering about my birthday and I also wish all the students Happy New Year. Thank you Elden for your wishes as well. How is everyone doing in 2010?" - this is the reply we recieved from Poland.
I also wish everyone a great weekend. Take care of your eating habbits, loose weight and be more fit every single time you come to class. This is going to make a huge differance in your performance.

Team Work. I would like to thank all the students for amazing team work in cleaning up the lamps in the church. Before the class I have asked to clean up whatever you can before the class, never expecting you to finish them all. One ladder did not stop you from coming up with other ideas such as grabbing tables and using them. By the time I realized all lamps in the gym were finished, to my surprise. Because of your quick action we don't need to meet today, Thursday. Instead we can stay home and injoy other activities. One more time thank you very much for showing our organizational skills.
Training was also unique in a way that we all trained front flip and Instructor videotaped everyone. Students one after another were able to see their jumps in slow motion and were able to see what they are doing wrong. Lukasz Sajdak had the most success in correcting his mistakes and one of his front flips was very well done. He landed on straight feet and was as suprised as anyone else. Tome Butryn has a great height at the base of the jump and the onle problem is the landing. His knees are giving up as he lands but this is something that can be corrected as well. Stas and Andrew nail them all. Elden has also made an improvement and is well aware of what needs to be fixed to complete the front flip successfuly. Overall great job everyone. Our next class is on Monday.

Happy Birthday Founder Zbigniew Jez. All studnets as well as Instructor Rafal Nowakowski wish Founder of our school Mr. Zbigniew Jez all the best, many healthy years, motivation and so much more. Elden Saba sent personal message to Poland. Thank you Elden. On the other note, snow is melting, sun is coming up. We are about to leave for the practice and set up the mats. If anyone can come early as well and set them up it would be of a great help. We are also going to meet up Thursday some time afternoon and clean up the lamps We will talk about it tonight at the practice. See you in couple of hours.

Team work. Everyday we learn new lesson and even though some of them are very obvious it is good to refresh out memory. I have been working on many different projects and there is this saying that if you want something done right, do it yourself and it is very true. But at the same time if you want to accoplish a lot and have a large chalenge it is good to work with other people who are helping you reach your goal. Surround yourself with other people who have similar interest in mind, exchange ideas and information and work together to reach this goal.

Class tonight. The driving conditions are not the greatest today. Please take some extra time to get to class as it will definitely take you longer to get there. How is everyone after the weekend? Anything special happened? Let us know. We are also suppose to clean lights in the church two times a year and last time was suppose to be for Christmas. Unfortunately there was not time then and we should do it this week. Please let Instructor know if you would be able to help some time this week, possibly Tuesday afternoon, which is tomorrow. Your help would be greatly appreciated. I will see everyone in class tonight. Again, take some extra time dedicated to driving. As you see on the picture taken couple minutes ago, snow is everywhere.

People asking about our class. Yesterday in Polish church I met a person who asked about our class. He would like to join us and train with us. I have provided him with basic information such as times and days ( Mondays and Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. for older group ) and he may be coming in today. If you meet someone who is interested in our class, let them know that they are welcomed to join us.

Weekend is here. What do you have planed out for the weekend? Are you doing anything special? It is important to work as well it is important to relax, unless you like your work so much that it feels like relaxation. I know at least in few cases that it is not true and I totaly understand. Monday is our next class, in a meantime get some rest. Anya is helping a lot with checking all the applications as well as the attendance list. Yesterday's workout. Note to a younger group and anyone who does not know it yet: always take off your hat before entering out working out area. Having your hat removed while in a gym as well as while speaking with someone is a sign of respect Youger group had some fun excersises jumping of the tables on the mats as well as doing superman position while Instructor and Mr. Lucas were holding them up in the air. "Smile - serious" technique was also introduced as young students are having some problems changing from a fun mode to "let's get the program vocered" mode. Older group came in at 6:00 and was ready for action. Focused mostly on leg technique, while improving the strength of the kicks. Lucas' kicks could knock down a horse. Well done. Now tired and exhausted we are going home.

Starting a year on a right note. There is this saying that in healthy body there is a healthy spirit. Whatever you put in your body will determine it's structure. This morning I was able to make some natural carrot/apple juice as well as have a tuna salad and two glasses of water. Every time you make a meal which is fat free, your body will take an extra fat from your body and burn it. This is how you loose weight. In weight control 90% is the food you eat and 10% is the training. Wake up to couple glasses of water, tuna salad and glass of natural juice. Let your body take an extra fat from existing layers and you will fine tune your body to the point it should be. On the other note if anyone would like to come early and help set up mats around 4:45p.m. as well as help out with younger group you are more than welcomed. Instructor is normally there at 4:30 p.m. See you in class today. We are also creating an address book for e-mail. Please e-mail Instructor with your first and last name in the subject so that we can have present e-mail address in the address book.

Founder's birthday. January 13-th is Mr. Zbigniew Jez's birthday. Mr. Jez is Instructor's teacher as well as a founder of our school. He presently holds a title of 9-th dan and is one of the most recognizable persons in Martial Arts in Poland as well as Czech Republic and Germany. Please remember class for students ages 5-11 is at 5:15 and for ages 12 and above at 6:00p.m.

First class of the year. Today we had our first class of the year. It is nice to see all the students in 2010. We have trained everything as usual but main technique of the class was passing from rear choke to an arm bar. Oscar also has visited us and had a great workout. He is presently in school way too far from out training class to attend it regularly but whenever he has a chance he comes and trains with us. We are checking attendance starting new 2010 year just to see who is coming and who is not. Thank you for all students who are not able to attend for communicating with Instructor and letting him know about the circumstances. See you on Wednesday.
